Tricia S. Jones (Ph.D., The Ohio State University; M.S., Purdue University; B.S., University of Wiscon­sin-Oshkosh) has been a conflict scholar, practitioner, and consultant for 25 years. She has written, edited, or co-edited 5 books, published more than 50 articles or book chapters, presented more than 100 presentations at national or international conferences, and received more than $2.1 million in grant fund­ing for her research in the area of conflict processes. She is currently editor of Conflict Resolution Quarterly and serves as a guest reviewer for other conflict management journals. Dr. Jones brings con­siderable knowledge of conflict theory and research that can be applied to conflict coaching. In addition, she has been an active conflict management trainer for a variety of Fortune 100 and national non-profit organization for the past 20 years. In recognition of her emphasis of theory and practice integration, she received the Jeffrey Z. I bought these for my third grade classroom. They are great for the biography genre and then to use for report writing. The three years I've used them so far the kids LOVED them. Easy for their reading levels, informative, and people they have heard of in their lives. They would read their own and then read other that they had heard of. I bought my 6-year old grandson his firsts of this series: Who was Blackbeard, George Washington, and Elvis? Men he already had an interest in as his family vacations in Ocracoke, he and I listen to Elvis often, and George Washington married into our family tree. He loves these books. Finished Elvis on his 84th birthday, which worked out great, and he wanted to start George Washington. I will be buying many more.

Even though I am not a fan of Elvis, you can't deny the guy changed the direction music took. I bought several of these for my 12-year-old daughter to read. My wife ended up reading them as well. Both of them thoroughly enjoyed all of the "Who Was...?" books and learned new things about each of the people or bands we got.

This is just what my granddaughter wanted for her birthday. She just loves these "Who Was______" books.

The Who Was…? biography series are perfect for elementary or intermediate age students interested learning about the featured person for an assignment or just for fun. This look into the life of The King of Rock N’ Roll was a great way to start off our mornings and caused the i-pod to change from its normal shuffle mode to strictly Elvis and his varied styles of music.

I got this for my pastor. He is always talking about a little red wagon he had as a child. Two years ago I gave him a small red wagon. He has books in it. It is just big enough to place on his desk. I though the pictures are beautifully done. I am a retired school teacher who taught first and second grade. I know my kids would have loved this.

Boring story,(too little, too late) awesome illustrations....encourages imagination however for STEM, Boy Scouts, DIY-ears and must have a red wagon!

Purchased for my grandson for his first birthday along with a radio flyer wagon. He loved the wagon and I'm sure he'll love the book when he's a little older. I loved the book! Very short and sweet, with really cool illustrations, and a story that could surely have been conjured up in a child's imaginative mind.

Purchase for the illustrations. The story is thin and needs to be filled with the kids imagination and studying the pics.

I love the book, but my 3 year old great grandson not sooo much. When he gets older he will enjoy the book. The book was his Christmas present and the wagon was his birthday present which was 2 days later.
