This is a very good book with lots of information on herbs, where which ones like to grow, etc. My only regret is it doesn't contain more herbs although there are tons of them listed in this book. It is a great resource & I would love to see an expanded edition in the future!

Read this from cover to cover on a long trip. Excellent! I particulary like the "One Page Fact Sheet" format for all of the common herbs. For example, if you wake up on a Tuesday and think "Gee, I feel like growing lavender today," you can focus on the key factors like soil, sunlight, growing climate zone, plant needs, etc for JUST LAVENDER and know enough to be dangerous in 10 minutes.Also has good high-level information on planning/spacing the whole garden.

Great book! Lots of great information on planting, uses, and cultivation of herbs. I made an herb garden based on one in the book. I took it out at my library originally, renewed it, then decided I needed to own it!

This is an amazing book. I look at it all the time. It has a quick reference guide for every herb in the book which is my favorite part. I now know how to grow, use, re-grow every herb listed.

Miranda Smith's 'Your Backyard Herb Garden' is a beautiful book to browse. The photographs are helpful, but it's the sketches of herbs and gardens that are most appealing. It's a great book to dream through in late winter while planning a spring herb garden.I'm in the process of setting up my first two small 4x4 raised herb beds, and Smith's book is my 'go to' book. Each entry details not only how to plant but also where to plant and how to use the herb. There are introductory chapters on how to prepare beds, select and care for plants, and use herbs in cooking, crafts, and beauty products.An aspect that I greatly appreciate is the information detailing how to harvest and store herbs. When and how to cut herbs and whether they are best frozen or dried is confusing no longer.If, like me, you're a neophyte herb gardener, this is the place to start.

This little book is chock full of every piece of information one could need to set up, establish, and maintain an herb garden. It really is more than I had hoped for. I grow orchids, but have really no knowledge about herbs (except I love them!), and I live in Florida where the strong sunlight can be tricky. This book tells you how to grow from seeds or seedlings, the requirements of many herbs (all of the ones I was interested in anyway), which to grow with which, whether they are annual or perennial, how to use them for cooking, making vinegars, making oils, for medicinal purposes, whether they pose any health threats, etc. etc. etc. Would highly recommend this for any newbie herb gardener such as myself and quite possibly for someone who is already growing them, but would like more information.

I'm still reading through this book and enjoying all of the helpful information here. Garden planning, planting, care, selection, location, you name it I guess. So many herbs, so little time!! Lovely layout and illustrations. They have even included a side tab in the page margins which indicate the difficulty or care needed for each plant. Bravo

This was the kind of catch-all reference for which I was searching. I am a first-time herb gardener this year, though I have had success with vegetables for some time, and I wanted to learn more about what to expect from those items I planted - when to harvest them, how to use & store them. This was perfect. The chapters were well-organized and covered nearly every herb that I hoped to see. Especially nice is the herb index at the end, giving a page of key facts about each garden favorite. When I am about to go out and snip some herbs, I can give the index a quick once over to remember which ones I should take when, and how.There were other books I looked over first, some with recipes or more in depth gardening advice, but this book was best aimed at what I wanted to know.

I was sure not expecting what I got. I got much more. Lorelie James turned something into her own.Lorelei James captivated readers with the art of Shibari or at least for me she has. Shibari is an ancient Japanese artistic form of rope bondage. I have read many novels with BDSM and dealing with rope but never have I read a novel so descriptive and well explained. Who would think reading an erotic novel would be a learning tool. I was so amazed by this and of course had to do my own little research. Lorelei James did her research and did it well. That is why she is a top seller author. Plus she has a beautiful writing voice and knows how to make readers fall in love with her characters.So of course I fell in love with Ronin Black. I believe I fell in love with his name before him. I do love a mysterious hero and Ronin is as mysterious as they come. I wish more layers were pealed away about him because I feel like it was just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his life, which he likes to keep private. Slowly the layers are peeled and not by his doing or choice, more so by Amery. Refreshing to have a hero of mixed-heritage with Japanese, Master and Owner of a Dojo. The first time he meets Amery he is intrigue by her fierceness and sexiness. He senses her desire to be bold and break free. He works hard, had not played in a long time and is need of some playtime. Ronin you can come play with me anytime. He is sexy, intense but at the same time all about her pleasures and patient. Amery is a patient heroine because after their hot first kiss there is no way I would be able to control my self.I enjoyed Amery character. Her past lovers were all about pleasuring themselves and not her. For her it is new and refreshing to finally find a lover who is all about her. I love that she is not shy in the bedroom department and is willing to explore. I found her a strong will heroine who does have limits when it comes to Ronin with Shibari.Love them as a couple. They both have a sense of humor and of course are deliciously sinful in the bedroom. Lorelei James knows how to write yummy scorching-panty changing scenes with a sexy-tattoo-biker riding-dirty talking Ronin. Their time together is also bumpy as he focuses on her completely that he reveals little of himself. While she believes she has opened herself up to him fully, she does not get that he has revealed more to her than he has anyone else. He just choice what was important to reveal about himself.Bound is in Amery POV and I really wanted to get into Ronins head and see some of his actions when it came towards Amery. Yes it is a cliffhanger and was sure how it was going to end but to my surprise it was done in Ronin POV and let me tell you that was truly the best. Strong, exotic, lethal at his art, he is everything sexy on the outside and a total enigma, a paradox, on the inside - very intense. Amery Hardwick, a North Dakota native, moved to Colorado after graduating college and is now fulfilling her dream... she owns her own graphic design business, small but growing. She is a talented, smart, self-sufficient woman... and beautiful, of course. There is also a rebellious part of Amery that desires to be bold, free to explore her sexual desires without the guilt.When Amery's friend and employee, Molly, is attacked, they both join the dojo for a course in self defense. Molly has become reclusive after the assault and Amery joins her for moral support. Sensei Black notices Amery immediately, (of course), because of her beauty and even more so because of her spirit and sass. He is drawn to her for another more subtle reason. You have to read the book to find out why. Soon after the 1st class, he shows up at Amery's office and offers to hire her. He wants a new logo created for Black Arts and believes she is the person to do the job.Well into their relationship, Ronin recognizes Amery's desires, on both sexual and emotional levels and asks her to trust him in being able to help her "let go" and feel the power she can obtain in surrendering to him. I enjoyed learning about shibari and kinbaku binding. Shibari refers to purely artistic, aesthetic rope, whilst kinbaku refers to the artistic, connective, sensual, sexual practice as a whole. I looked up this art form and found the images to be erotic, a true art form, without the usual S&M connotations.I have not read an erotic novel for some time and have never read any of the author's books. "Bound" is certainly different in the romantic erotic genre - well worth the read. It is exceptionally well written and the descriptive passages are quite sensual. The characters are fairly complex and their relationship is very intimate, not only sexually but emotionally. There are also plots and sub-plots...more intricate then usual with this type of novel. Obviously there are some steamy scenes, a wide variety of them.Lorelei James's tempers her narrative with humor, wild sexuality/sensuality, and an innate dominance that hooks even the most jaded of readers.*** SPOILER ALERT - the novel ends with a cliffhanger. There is a sequel. I strongly advise prospective readers to begin with "Bound" and then continue with "Unwound."JANA

I do not think there isn't anything Lorelei James writes that I will not like. This is a change from her smokin' hot alpha male cowboys I have grown to become addicted to.... But it still had the Lorelei James heat. The story pulls you in and and I became emotionally vested in the characters. Amery Hardwick has a dream job, great friends and a life she is comfortable in. She attends a self defense class with one of her friends and finds herself becoming singled out by Ronin Black, owner of the dojo where the class is held. Ronin is secretive and keeps people at arms length, but he finds himself drawn to Amery. Their chemistry is molten and the sexual tension is almost tangible... Their relationship takes a beating with lies, secrets and pasts neither were prepared to have to relive. But the love is obvious and the sexual chemistry could start a fire, maybe that is enough to make it last??? Only negative I could find in this book was there is a cliffhanger and I am dying to know what happens next...

A collection of movie posters for the well-remembered sciencefiction films of 1950 - 1964? And sets of lobby cards tosweeten the pot? Well, the problem is that most of thescience fiction films from this period were ultra-low budget,which translates as to "no money for art for posters," and"no colorizing of stills used as lobby cards." And thattranslates further to, "of very little visual interest."Not that there are not some good posters, but the good onesare all familiar. THE THING (7) features giant letters carvedapparently out of gobbets of raw flesh! INVASION OF THE BODYSNATCHERS (38) features tiny images of running pairs ofpeople on a half-red, half-yellow background with asuperimposed hand print. the book was shipped a day or so after I ordered it and it arrived fairly quickly. It's in good condition and I haven't found much, if any, wear and tear on it. There is a name on the inside cover which bothers me, but it's not that much of a problem. And it was fairly cheap compared to the other Animorph books I've found online.

According to my 9 year old daughter, not one of the best Animorph books but still very good. She loves the whole series!

Oh crap, it's time for David. I'm not sure if I read all 3 of them or did so in order, and it's been a long time anyway.At first, he seemed odd or something like that rather than outright bad. Is the evil sense in hindsight?I wonder how the Escafil defice went unfound for so long.As usual, seeing Erek is not good. I'm surprised that the Yeerks infested a world leader anyway. Such a major event happening near the Animorphs is more support of the assumption that the series is set in LA."You could put an eye out with that" great A Christmas Story reference about David's BB gun.Trained animals is a good cover story, or at least one we hadn't heard yet. Likewise, a cop telling off other cops was a good way aorudn the burglar alarm problem.At first I thought David's dad was too busy to take care of the kid properly. I suppose traveling all the time wouldn't help. We don't hear much about David's mom, only an afterthought in the "parents made Controllers" theme. Is that a deliberate point by Applegate or a gap in the writing?Okay, now that David found out, it would make sense to make him an Animorph and hide him. They wouldn't think to kill him, at least not right away.So Marco said his mom was born in another country. I hadn't assumed that based on Hispanic, but those two facts combined give a lot of options for headcanon of Marco's parents' relationship. I am a sucker for canon details.I hadn't expected such an awkward cliffhanger ending even for part of a trilogy.

Again, I come to the same problems like "the Departure". I don't have the whole series, so I can't start out with some summaries. I, again REALLY wish that anyone who has a full series, would give it to me by any chance if you decide to mail it to me, send me an e-mail. Anyway, let's go back to the summary.This story is lead by Marco, the some-what cool, loving to-be-in-center-of attention joker. Okay, they were enjoying their normal lives after their last mission, when Marco saw the morphing cube. The morphing cube Elfangor used to create the Animorphs. The morphing cube, the blue box, the Escafill device which had been thought to be destroyed with Elfangor is now found on hands off a new boy called David. Marco instantly realizes that David doesn't know what it is and what it can do. He also notices that the Animorphs should get the blue box as fast as possible, no matter what costs. The first plan was to just simply steal the Escafill device from the kid's room. The plan fitted into pieces as follows. 1. Fly inside the opened window with David hanging out on his pool 2. Get the thing. 3. Bail. However, they left out a few steps: the first was to check sure of the plan. Marco accidently hit the stick which was keeping the window from shutting, and he locked himself up. Second was that there was a cat in the room which made Rachel join after shattering the glass. Last of all, the kid had a B-B gun. He fired it at Marco who was really close of getting the device. As a result, the plan `A' failed. Next day, in school, Marco finds some horrible facts: David shot out images of the Escafill device on the internet, and Visser three already reserved it. Knowing that there isn't enough time left, Marco tried to stop this e-mail from being automatically sent to Visser three, and got in this really stupid mess with himself as a snake, Ax demorphing, and David's father witnessing with a gun. After that the things just got much worse. David and his dad terrified, Visser three himself, Marco- the snakeboy, and willing-to-revenge Ax. Later, the fight joined in with Cassie as wolf, Tiger Jake, and Exana in grizzly morph. Much later, the Animorphs realized that they need to bail and they did. Cassie, Jake, Rachel, and Ax hurled butts through the wall that Rachel knocked out. David was shoved out of the bathroom window by Rachel. And Marco had a close call of being captured. Later on, they decided to make David join them.Then David became the sixth Animorphs. The first mission after this Escafill device getting is to save the world's greatest leaders, Britain, France, Russia, Japan, Germany, and the United States. They knew they need to stop the Yeerks from infesting the world's greatest leaders and they were trying to when the book ended. I think this is a good book. I wish I had #21 to finish the story. BTW, this is #20.

Do NOT buy this book. It is totally inaccurate as to how it assesses various math concepts truly covered on the ACT. For example, you will not be asked to calculate standard deviation, expected value, or the determinant of a matrix. I have recent ACT test data to prove this. Also, the practice tests do not follow an order of difficulty which is what really happens on the real ACT. This book is a sham. It looks nice on the outside and it's small so it's not overwhelming. However, I decided to throw this book in the garbage. I recommend you go with Kaplan or materials published by the ACT test makers.

I am pretty frustrated with this book thus I am writing this review in the middle of my study. I gave it 3 stars because it does provide formulas and examples and tests and answers. So you do learn something from it. BUT, some of the answers to the tests aren't explained step by step, especially some of the more complicated one which you really need the step by step explanation, however, it jumps few steps so it totally throws you off. There are some editing errors too. For example, answer # 1, item 47, contains answers for 48.I also found out there are areas aren't covered but shows up on the test. Without explaining the formula, you can't expect students know how to pass the test of the that subject. I had to ask some friends for help. And they gave me the simple formula that's not written on this book

This book has math errors. Describing division with decimals, the book says, "Upon finding the answer, or quotient, the decimal point is inserted at the decimal place equal to that in the dividend." (page 13) On page 17 it says "3 - - 6 = 3 + 9 = 12." I stopped there. Probably a lot is true, but it needs to all be right.

This book has inaccurate information. The very first page of teaching/review talks about integers. The book defines an " integer as any number that has a nonzero decimal part." That is wrong. On the next page, it says, "When rounding any digit that is below 5, the digit gets rounded down. The rounded digit, and all subsequent digits, become 0, and the preceding digit goes DOWN BY 1." That too is inaccurate.

I really like this book because it explains what we do on the ACT and it tell you how to do certain math problems. It also provides a good explanation for the answers on the practice tests. Overall, I would recommened this book to many people taking the ACT because I’ve seemed to learn a lot more from reading this study guide.

This book has comprehensive yet concise coverage of all the ACT math topics. This book serves as a great review and practice book for ACT math. Highly recommend it.

This map is very detailed and big which makes it easy to read when it comes to elevation profiles of the hikes.I wish it was made of Tyvek-like material, so I could add that fifth star to this review.
